"CONGRATULATIONS TO JACOB MILLER
AND LOCAL 421!!"
Jacob L. Miller, a 5th year Apprentice, started in our daytime welding program with Wake Tech Community College in 2011. After completing a semester, advanced on to continue his weld training in our welding/pipefitter program with Rowan-Cabarrus Community College in Concord while serving as an Apprentice with partner contractors Intermech, Dynamic Systems and MENK. His last referral was with our partner contractor CB&I, taking with him 4 UA weld certifications. He has continued his weld training and skills at our LAURENS, SC training facility since April 2013, where under the persistent training and guidance of our senior weld Instructor BOBBY WOOD; has gone on to WIN the United Association's District 3 Welding Competition in New Orleans, Louisiana this past week (6/12/14).
Jacob competed and won over 11 states represented in the Regional contest and will now go to Ann Arbor, Michigan to represent our Local in the National Contest in August 2014.
This is a very proud moment for Mechanical Trades Carolina, our NC Community College partnerships and Local 421 JATC.
A very special thank you to our Business Manager, Skip Howard and Local 421, that helped with this Triumph for our Team!!
