Wages & Benefits
Earn some of the highest wages in the industry along with excellent benefits for you and your family. Established working hours and overtime rates, safe working conditions, tools supplied by contractors, eliminating the need to haul tools and equipment around in your personal vehicle, continuing Journeyman training and education that keeps you up-to-date- with the latest technological advances in our industry, giving you more opportunity for employment, a five year registered apprenticeship program, that allows you to earn as you learn and a fraternity and friendship with your fellow craft workers and brothers.

Health & Welfare
The Trustees of the Local 421 Health and Welfare Plan are pleased to provide Participants and all of their eligible dependents with an excellent healthcare plan for regular doctor visits, hospital room and board, surgical, outpatient care and prescription drugs. In addition this comprehensive plan provides coverage for dental and eye exams and glasses. Local 421 Health & Welfare Trustee’s continues to keep pace with the ever-changing medical need of our members and their families. To become eligible for family coverage, participants must only work 125 hours in one month.

Pensions & Annuity
Local 421 provides two pension for its members, a defined benefit plan that guarantees you a monthly pension benefit at age 60, as well as an annuity that will give you one lump sum at the age of 60.

The defined benefit plan is continually updated and improved to provide our members and their families with the solid financial security they will need to enjoy their retirement years. Vesting in the defined benefit plan is 5 years, and once you are vested you can never lose the retirement benefit.

The annuity plan can enhance your retirement. As a member, contributions are made by your employer(s) into an account just for you. Your money is then invested by professional money managers for a maximum annual rate of return. Once you reach age 60 you will receive all the contributions plus the interest you have earned over the years in one lump sum or you can roll it over into your own personal retirement account.
